In a laboratory beneath an old Istrian town, a young biologist named Boris studies how to extend human life as a boy's disappearance unsettles the community above. Joining the search leads him to reconsider tales of štriguni, mythical beings said to abduct children. In his new Croatian horror film "Štriguni," writer and director Aldo Tardozzi pits modern genetics against Istrian folk beliefs, leaving Boris increasingly unsure whether science can explain what is happening.
