Winning at MozaIQ takes broad knowledge and a willingness to take a few risks. Questions on film, geography, music, science, literature, sports, general knowledge and popular culture are paired with the Kapot and Jackpot mini-games, with prizes extending well beyond the top of the leaderboard. All ages are welcome, from seasoned teams to first-time pub quiz players. The quiz is created by the MIQ team: Andrej Briščik, Goran Djaković, Luka Medak, Zdravko Medek and Ivica Mustač. The club has thirteen years of quiz-organizing experience, spanning Rijeka Pub Kviz and Erasmus/ESN Pub Kviz Večeri, events at the Natural History Museum of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County and Torpedo, and outdoor quizzes.

How it works

  • Teams may have up to five members. The quiz is played in two halves with a short refreshment break.
  • Teams discuss the questions and submit written answers. Answers and current standings are read out at halftime, with prizes awarded after the quiz.
  • An estimation question is asked in the first half. The team whose answer is closest wins a prize, and the result also serves as a tiebreaker.

Registration and seating

  • Team registration and table reservations are handled through a Google form. The number of teams is limited by the available tables.
  • If spaces remain, teams can also register with the host on the day from 18:30 until the quiz begins.
  • Teams can choose indoor or terrace seating, weather permitting. There are 34 tables and two standing spots indoors, plus five tables on the terrace.
  • Terrace tables are allocated in registration order.

Leaderboard prizes

  • 1st place: 1 L of Jameson Irish Whiskey and five tickets to the Rijeka–Varaždin match on November 1 at 15:00.
  • 2nd place: 0.7 L of Jameson Irish Whiskey Caskmates IPA Edition.
  • 3rd place: 0.7 L of Jameson Irish Whiskey.
  • 4th place: wooden medals.
  • 5th place: five tickets to a performance at Kalvarija Cultural Center.
  • 6th place: five double burgers at Pockets Burgers.
  • 7th place: a bottle of Cannella.
  • 8th place: five servings of Sweet Spaghetti Nutella+Biscoff at Sweet House Crepes.
  • Second-to-last place: a tray of burek from Burek kod Braće.
  • Prizes for 5th through 8th place and the random draws may change depending on the Jackpot winners.

Random draw prizes

  • Teams finishing between 8th and second-to-last place in the final standings enter the draw at the end of the quiz.
  • Maraska Pelinkovac; a six-pack of Red Bull; five cups of ice cream from Storia Gelato; a bottle of spirits from Destilerija Suza.
  • One liter of the XXL club cocktail; a 1.5 L pitcher of Klubsko pivo Lager or Dark with one month of training for the team at Capoeira Beira do Rio.
  • A €50 gift voucher for Optika Damir; a 1.5 L pitcher of Stella Artois; a gift package from Garica Shop.
  • Five Franck teas; five bottles of HIDRA; five combinations of a Franck coffee of your choice and Juicy Vita. The teas and HIDRA are served at Rijeka Youth Club.

Jackpot games

  • Jackpot games take place during quiz week. Online questions are posted as images in the MozaIQ – Kviz Općeg znanja Facebook group.
  • The prize goes to the team that posts the first correct answer in a comment and takes part in that week’s quiz. Each team can win a maximum of one Jackpot.
  • Jackpot 1 takes place on Thursday at 19:00, with five tickets to a performance at the Croatian National Theatre Ivan pl. Zajc as the prize.
  • Jackpot 2 takes place on Friday at 19:00, with one hour of bowling at Kooglana in Tower as the prize.
  • Jackpot 3 takes place between the two quiz halves, with a 1.5 L pitcher of GRIF IPA or Lager as the prize.
  • Jackpot 4 is also played at the quiz, with a six-pack of Corona as the prize.

Drink specials from 19:00 to 21:00

  • Corona Extra, 0.355 L: €3.40.
  • Maraska Kruškovac: €1.70.
  • Jägermeister: €2.40.
  • Tropical Gin Sunrise: €4.50.

Drink specials from 21:00 to 00:00

  • Madri draft beer, 0.4 L: €2.60.
  • Maraska chocolate walnut liqueur: €1.70.
  • Disaronno Amaretto: €2.30.
  • Piña Colada: €4.50.

Fair play and cancellations

  • Yellow cards are issued for confirmed cheating, extreme verbal abuse, failing to show up after reserving a table, or canceling on quiz day.
  • Two yellow cards result in a red card, after which the team’s reservations will no longer be accepted. If a league is running, the team is automatically disqualified.
  • The cancellation rule also applies to Sunday cancellations that the organizers do not see in time.
